JCB involvement in house demolitions

Since the occupation of the West Bank by Israel during the 1967 war, tens of thousands of Palestinians homes and structures have been demolished by the Israeli army using JCB diggers. In the first nine months of this year alone over 670 structures were demolished. Now, following a case brought by Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights the British Department for International Trade has ordered JCB to make changes to ensure that their machines are not used for illegal purposes and to report back on the actions they have taken. Churches can also act by divesting from companies like JCB that benefit from activity in the occupied territories in violation of international law.
